Are you a skilled Linux Systems Administrator looking for a challenge in a high-stakes environment? Join a dynamic team on a long-term contract supporting the intelligence community, where your expertise will be critical to maintaining the stability, security, and performance of a cutting-edge infrastructure. This role provides the opportunity to work across both Windows and Linux environments, supporting mission-critical applications and services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Provide daily operational support for both Linux and Windows operating systems and applications.

- Manage and maintain virtual and physical infrastructure, including servers running CentOS in development, testing, and production configurations.

- Develop and maintain environments in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Ensure system security by monitoring dashboards and supporting Continuous Monitoring efforts.

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems and applications.

- Oversee testing strategies, leveraging automation tools like Ansible and Puppet for provisioning, configuration management, and patching.

- Collaborate with fellow administrators, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth integration and operation of applications.

- Troubleshoot complex issues, provide incident analysis, and recommend solutions.

 

Required Skills:

 

- Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

- Extensive experience with RedHat and/or CentOS.

- Proficiency with VMWare ESXi infrastructure (v6.x+), vCenter, host clustering, and replication.

- Experience with Ansible/Puppet for automated server builds and application management.

- Strong experience with AWS, including building, upgrading, and maintaining applications.

- Proficiency with Git, GitLab, or GitHub for code maintenance.

- Experience managing Elasticsearch on CentOS and working with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

- Certified Linux System Administrator.

- Knowledge of network engineering fundamentals and design.

- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, SCCM, MS SQL Server, and PowerShell scripting.

- Familiarity with Syslog applications (Splunk), Hadoop infrastructure, and Cisco network/security devices.

- AWS Certification and ITIL Foundations Certification a plus.

- Certifications like CISSP, GIAC, or Security+ are highly desirable.
