What You’ll Do
In this role, you'll be responsible for planning and performing operations to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of piping systems, heating, and air conditioning equipment. You’ll utilize your plumbing expertise to troubleshoot and maintain systems in both plant and office areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair systems including water, steam, oil, air, gas, sanitary waste, and wastewater.
- Maintain heating and cooling systems, including troubleshooting and repairing air conditioning units and copper coil heaters.
- Inspect and maintain sprinkler systems and underground fire supply, ensuring proper operation and pressure.
- Troubleshoot instruments and control systems for HVAC, water, and wastewater systems.
- Maintain logs for air makeup systems and combustion equipment operations.
- Use a variety of hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipe.
- Safely operate forklifts as needed in job duties.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman plumber certification or at least 3 years of documented plumbing experience.
- Must live within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumber pipefitter experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 5 years of experience or equivalent to a journeyman plumber level in an industrial setting.
- Extensive experience with piping in an industrial environment.
Success Criteria
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical understanding of equipment.
- Ability to use tools efficiently and economically.
- Skilled in selecting and assembling fittings like elbows, couplings, and unions.
