Position Overview:

As an Electrical and Controls Engineer II, you’ll provide critical plant technical support, lead capital projects, and serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting and optimizing electrical systems. From start to finish, you’ll manage a wide range of industrial electrical and control system projects—developing plans, engineering designs, cost estimates, and ensuring successful project execution. You’ll also guide operations and maintenance teams, defining and implementing proactive solutions for power and control systems, while ensuring top-notch performance and safety standards.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

- Expertise in electrical control systems engineering for plant support and project management.

- Proven ability to develop and review technical specifications, manage projects, and oversee supplier and contractor activities.

- Strong communication skills for reporting project status, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with internal teams.

- Hands-on experience with DCS, Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI applications, and networked control systems.

- Solid project management abilities, successfully handling multiple projects with budgets ranging from $50k - $2MM.

- Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards, along with a drive for continuous improvement.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

- Provide electrical control systems engineering support across projects and plant operations.

- Manage and execute project plans, including vendor selection, budget management, and training of plant personnel.

- Solve complex technical problems and support plant operations with root cause analysis and maintenance plans.

- Oversee safety initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards.

- Collaborate with external engineering teams and manage third-party contractors to deliver successful projects.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems engineering in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience managing electrical power distribution systems and implementing safety initiatives.

 

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience with high-voltage power distribution systems (480V - 13,800V).
