Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Develop, design, maintain, and commission automation and control systems for Industrial Equipment.

·         Design and program logic for PLCs, drive systems, and combustion control systems.

·         Develop SCADA and operator interface applications.

·         Design databases and write custom computer programs for PLC and SCADA system interface.

·         Apply standard procedures to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical components, diagnose and resolve issues.

·         Create project manuals and electrical schematics using CAD.

·         Develop scope of work, cost estimates and budgets for electrical systems.

·         Develop an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of SCR systems such as fluid systems, operations, metallurgy, maintenance, material handling, furnace systems, and hands on machine operation.

·         Assist with on-site commissioning of all parts of an SCR system.

·         This individual transfer know-how to SCR customers through training, discussions, presentations, and startup assistance.

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field is required.

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience (compensation will be based on experience) in the chemical or manufacturing industry, such as Industrial processing equipment, instrumentation and control, AC and DC drives, PLC’S, combustion systems, design, maintenance and/or operation.

·         Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC and drive experience.

·         CAD experience with AutoCAD.

·         SCADA system and HMI application experience.

·         Computer programming, networking, database, and reporting skills.

·         Ability to develop and maintain in-depth, up-to-date technical knowledge, and to develop into technical resource and subject matter expert.

·         Ability to travel internationally: 35%

·         Must possess excellent communication, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.

 

Must Have’s

·         Minimum of 8 Years Design, Commissioning, Troubleshooting, and/or Operations of PLC Process and control Systems for combustion Management Systems.

·         Please note this is a PLC Process and Controls, not a database process and controls. They will be expected to be on the floor with the Technicians

·         Will be expected to travel internationally for time to time. About 35% of the time.

·         Office or home location will be in Carrollton GA.

YOUR ROLE

 

Lead projects related to electrical and sustainability.

Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Develop and implement control systems, including PLC programming, HMI design and SCADA systems

Develop and maintain documentation, including electrical schematics, control system diagrams, and technical specifications

Conduct periodic site observations and other services required by the contract service agreement.

Collaborate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical and control systems into manufacturing equipment and processes

Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical and control systems.

Develop and grow a team of automation engineers as needed.

Other duties as required.

 

YOUR SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 

Some experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.

Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.

A successful candidate should have strong critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and data analysis skills.

Must have familiarity with Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.

Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is preferred.

Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and execute effectively to launch and capital execution deadlines.

Ability to coach and lead others to achieve results, following all safety, quality, and productivity policies and procedures

5-10 years work experience in a manufacturing environment fulfilling an electrical engineer role or similar.

0-3 years experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.

The salary for this role is $85,000.00- $140,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.

Our company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for capital improvements and assisting with production uptime.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: The Electrical Engineer within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork.  Major duties include but are not limited to:

·         Working closely with production and maintenance to upgrade existing equipment.

·         Performing repairs.

·         Installing new machinery.

·         Supporting day-to-day operations by acting as a resource for skilled trades and contracted services.

·         General duties for the Electrical Engineer include but are not limited to:

·         Managing capital investment projects including the design, budget proposals, scope, and specifications.

·         Maintaining and managing control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems in the plant.

·         Assisting in production with identifying efficient and sustainable improvements to production centers.

·         Assisting maintenance with equipment and control system troubleshooting.

·         Implementing automation designs to improve safety, reliability, and reducing down time.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution

·         A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar environment

·         Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
