Job Description

 

The position is responsible for protecting ACC’s legal interests and operations, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The position is also responsible for overseeing ACC’s Legal Services staff. The position serves as the chief legal officer for ACC and the Board of Directors, including managing and overseeing Executive Committee and Board operations. The position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Major duties and responsibilities include:

 

·         Develops and deploys legal strategy, including offensive and defensive litigation as well as collaborates with technical and policy staff to provide input on regulations and legislation that could impact the business of chemistry.

 

·         Manages legal risk to ACC, including political and lobbying compliance and oversees contracts between ACC and outside parties.

 

·         Oversees corporate governance of ACC, including Board and Board Committee processes and serves as the Corporate Secretary to the organization.

 

·         Serves as a member of the ACC senior management team and maintains responsibility for coordinating and aligning with other ACC departments/divisions.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Pay Range

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

Sr. Principal Environmental Controls Engineer


Our client is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Sr. Principal Environmental Controls Engineer. Strong preference is for this individual to be based out of our Littleton Technical Center however for the right skill and ability there may be flexibility to be based elsewhere.

The purpose of the Senior Principal Environmental Controls Engineer role will be to provide engineering discipline and technical leadership in environmental equipment engineering, optimizing operation of abatement equipment, identifying opportunities for improvement, contributing to resolving environmental issues that may arise, and developing technical strategy for existing or future our client production lines.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Applying appropriate control technologies to improve environmental aspects of existing or future production lines, focus heavily on air emissions.

  • Contributing to our clients teams to ensure lines are operated in compliance with permits, primarily related to control device or abatement system technical operation.

  • Developing and maintaining parametric limits and monitoring requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise to plants and Corporate Environmental in establishing plans for new permit applications (State and Federal, new permits or re-permitting, whether minor construction permits, PSD permits, Title V operating permit renewals, etc.)

  • Frequent interface with personnel from Plants, corporate (Division, Process, Capital, Technology SMEs, Project, Environmental), vendors, consultants, and sometimes with regulatory agencies.

  • Applying disciplined approach to leading or contributing to complex environmental and operational issues, in a cross-functional organization.

  • Establishing best practices in environmental engineering calculations.

  • Providing expertise on operations and maintenance of existing abatement equipment.

  • Providing guidance on existing or future production and environmental equipment, recurring issues, or complex problems relating to environmental aspects, including:

o   Scope, operation, documentation, modeling, maintenance, limitations, instrumentation, data retention, controls, heat recovery, waste minimization.

o   Triage issues with specific production lines and abatement equipment.

o   Identify long term solutions to cost-effectively control emissions from new and existing lines in a way that maximizes operational flexibility of the operating lines.

o   Understanding implications of existing and upcoming regulations and BACT. In turn, establish viable strategic and technical approaches for existing or future production lines.

o   May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science, with a minimum of 15 years of experience around continuous process manufacturing in environmental controls technologies with experience as a project, process, or design engineer for environmental controls

       o   Higher degree or multiple degrees is beneficial.

  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing new abatement equipment or in improvements to existing equipment.

  • Strong understanding of abatement equipment configuration for a range of abatement technologies, types, and applications, including their respective performance aspects, strengths and weaknesses, and their necessary support systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in proposing and justifying the most suitable choice between improving or replacing existing equipment, and in most-suitable equipment for new production lines.

o   Demonstrated experience must include having considered the means to address issues with existing equipment vs. application of various abatement technologies, their costs, supporting systems, net emission performance aspects in making recommendations, and similar.

Position Summary

Responsible for the management and performance of the Environmental, Health, and Safety for MMS San Diego locations (Mira Mesa and Otay).  Responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining effective environmental, health, and safety programs.  Ensures a safe work environment free of recognizable hazards.  Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

·            Responsible for the overall management of all facility environmental health and safety programs including ERT, Safety Representatives, Hazard Communication, Occupational Safety, Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene.

-         Responsible for both Mira Mesa and Otay locations. Expected engagement 50/50 between sites.

·            Provide supervision, coaching and development for site leaders.
