Job Description

 

The position is responsible for protecting ACC’s legal interests and operations, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The position is also responsible for overseeing ACC’s Legal Services staff. The position serves as the chief legal officer for ACC and the Board of Directors, including managing and overseeing Executive Committee and Board operations. The position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Major duties and responsibilities include:

 

·         Develops and deploys legal strategy, including offensive and defensive litigation as well as collaborates with technical and policy staff to provide input on regulations and legislation that could impact the business of chemistry.

 

·         Manages legal risk to ACC, including political and lobbying compliance and oversees contracts between ACC and outside parties.

 

·         Oversees corporate governance of ACC, including Board and Board Committee processes and serves as the Corporate Secretary to the organization.

 

·         Serves as a member of the ACC senior management team and maintains responsibility for coordinating and aligning with other ACC departments/divisions.

 

·         Oversees overall organizational compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, including antitrust risk.

 

·         Serves as Chief Compliance Officer, including oversight and management of ACC’s Code of Ethics and Conduct program.

 

·         Oversees selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel. Oversees the employees within the Legal Services department, including establishing performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating employee development for direct reports.

 

·         Directs the development of annual legal operational budget.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll be based out of our Mendon, MA service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle.

  • You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.

  • You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites.

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience

  • 4-6 years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs

  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.

  • Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Starting, operating, repairing and maintaining various types of heating and air conditioning plants and associated equipment (i.e. air handling equipment, refrigeration equipment, etc.).

  • Maintaining and repairing motor controller and associated electrical equipment and control circuits.

  • Installing, repairing and calibrating various makes of pneumatic and/or electric controls required for the operation of temperature and humidity control equipment.

  • Performing inspections and making repairs on equipment/systems as required by company practices and/or regulations/ordinances.

  • Reviewing and interpreting word orders, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans and mechanical equipment drawings.

  • Climbing ladders, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

Even better if you have:

  • Relevant vocational or technical training or 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
